A tea party thanks ……..

I just wanted to share with you a lovely email I recieved last night from a bride to be.

On Saturday 18th August I set up a tea party at Elizabeth Armitage photography for a hen party.

The setting couldnt have been lovelier, the room was dressed beautifully and vanilla scent wafted through the air – (all tres romantic!!!)

Having a tea party whilst having a fun photo shoot with your girls has to be one of the best ways to spend your hen day.

Below are a few of the images from the tea set up, I hope to be able to share with you further images from the day shortly.

A thank you…..

I really wanted to share with you this lovely email I received from a customer yesterday, it put a huge smile on my face.

I had delivered a surprise box of 21st Birthday cupcakes to a lovely girl at Exeter University who was away from home on her special day.

Emma-Louise, they are absolutely exquisite! Thank you so very much for making and delivering on the right day at the right time! They must have been a lovely surprise for her and we gather she is actually having a tea party this afternoon which could not be better!

Thank you again for such a wonderful service,

Best wishes,

Penny

A couple of weeks back I was contacted and asked if I could put together a 600 word article on tea party style for the Jubilee to be featured in the June edition of Devon Life magazine, I gladly excepted the ‘challenge’ 600 words seemed an awful lot – turns out its really not!

When I returned home after the Otto Retro tea party I was excited to find my copy on the doormat - definitely one for the wall.

The magazine itself is bursting with interesting articles, dream homes and inspirational ideas, I highly recommend purchasing a copy and laying in the sun with a cool drink and relaxing for 10 minutes.

Once upon a tea party…..

Saturday 26th May saw some of Exeters greatest talents come out in force and share their wares in the perfect backdrop of Otto Retro,Fore Street,Exeter.

From headware to jewlery, pinnys to nails and of course tea and cake, we were all there celebrating pre-jubilee style! From 11am until 5 pm I was serving a delicious mix of cupcakes, cones, rocky road, mouth watering scones with lashing of jam and cream pleasantly accompanied by pots of tea.

It was great to see so many Tweet-teas come down and say hi, I can now put more faces to Twitter names :-)

Here are a few of the pictures from the event, enjoy!

I hope you are all able to attend Crikey its Queenie, the vintage fair this Saturday 2nd June at The Thistle Hotel,Exeter. Doors open at 10.30am and the first 100 visitors receive a goody bag, which will include a sample of Tea in the Citys Rocky Road :-)

Tea in the City with Exeter City

Today I made a spring delivery to Exeter City Football club – the theme of course was Red and White for our Grecians!

The delivery was booked by Marc Astley of Astley Media for this mornings board meeting, and by the reaction of me setting up, all were very pleased indeed and super impressed with Marc’s cake organisation skills.

By the looks of it they went very well……………………..

HAPPY READING XXX

A special delivery for the Hospice…………

This morning I visited the wonderful team at Exeter’s Hospice centre.

I was proud to deliver a selection of mini cupcakes to the day patients for them to enjoy with their afternoon tea. I met a lovely chap called Dick who happily accepted a cake to accompany his sherry and paper.

The centre itself is incredible, a hive of activity behind the scenes with staff and volunteers and an oasis of calm and relaxation in the patients lounge. I was astounded at the wonderful facilities available, an onsite hairdresser, therapy treatment rooms offering a selection of massages, craft room, beautiful peaceful gardens and a lovely dining area for socialising – it really was astounding and my words cant even describe what a fabulous job the Hospice team are doing.

I would like to take the opportunity to say thank you to Marc Astley for inviting me to the Hospice and a big thank you to all the staff and patients who I met today – truly inspiring.

An added note, Marc Astley of  Astleymedia just sent me this lovely picture of Dick the chipper gent I met this morning….

Tea in the City – share the Food of Love article….

There I was stuffing my face with toffee cheesecake in my pyjammas when my phone beeped with a tweet saying “Did you see yourself in the paper again today?”  I was so excited I wanted to share with you all, that’s me highlighted in pink!

A friend has since told me in the actual paper edition there is a picture so I will be venturing out in the monsoon weather to take a peek!
